What Is DigiSkills.pk? The Government Freelancing Programme Explained

What is DigiSkills?

A government-funded e-learning platform offering free, self-paced courses in freelancing and digital skills, with certificates on completion. Courses are delivered in batches several times a year, in Urdu and English, and are open to anyone with an internet connection. The stated aim is to move young Pakistanis into online work and raise the country's digital export earnings.

Is DigiSkills government or private?

Government. DigiSkills.pk is a Government of Pakistan programme under the Ministry of IT and Telecommunication, funded publicly, which is why the courses and certificates are free. It is not a private academy. Private institutes and social media pages can use the DigiSkills name in their marketing; that does not make them part of the programme.

How to register

1. 01Go to digiskills.pk and create an account with your CNIC and email.
2. 02Wait for the next batch announcement; enrolment windows are limited.
3. 03Choose up to a few courses per batch.
4. 04Complete the video lessons, quizzes and hands-on exercises in the learning portal (LMS) you log into after registering.
5. 05Download the certificate on passing.

DigiSkills courses that lead to work

The catalogue includes freelancing fundamentals, digital marketing, SEO, WordPress, graphic design, ecommerce management, data entry, virtual assistance, content writing, video editing and more. The ones that map most directly to paid work in our experience are WordPress, graphic design, SEO and content writing, because businesses buy those daily. Data entry and virtual assistance are the most crowded.

The DigiSkills freelancing course

The freelancing course is about the business side: finding work on online marketplaces, setting up a profile, writing proposals and dealing with clients. It does not teach a skill to sell, which is why it works best taken alongside one skill course in the same batch. The current outline is on the course page at digiskills.pk.

WordPress and graphic design courses

These two lead most directly to client work, and they are where we see DigiSkills graduates apply to us. A course gives you the vocabulary and the tools; clients then judge you on finished sites and designs. The DigiSkills certificate

You download a certificate for each course you pass. It proves you completed the course; it does not prove you can do the work. Put it on your profile and CV, and put three real projects next to it.

What the programme does not do

It does not find you clients, guarantee income or replace practice. A certificate proves you finished a course; a portfolio proves you can do the work. Avoid the scams: digiskills.pk, not look-alikes

DigiSkills is free. Anyone charging a fee for DigiSkills enrolment, certificates, guaranteed jobs or account setup is not DigiSkills. The official site is digiskills.pk; look-alike addresses such as digiskills.com, and pages or groups using the name, are not the programme unless the official site links to them. Its place in the freelance economy

Along with provincial programmes such as e-Rozgar, DigiSkills trained a large share of the freelancers who put Pakistan among the world's top freelance markets.
